Dear Emergency Preparedness Network (EPN):

The Maryland Department of Health's Office of Preparedness and Response (MDH OP&R) has provided the following announcements from the National Weather Service (NWS) and MEMA (Maryland Emergency Management Agency) as of Friday, July 17, 2022.

The following are briefings from the National Weather Service offices for Maryland for Monday, July 18, 2022 and Thursday, July 21, 2022.

Isolated Severe Thunderstorms and Isolated Instances of Flooding Possible Monday and Thursday 

  • A cold front will pass through the area on Monday. An additional cold front will pass through on Thursday. Isolated severe storms are possible on Monday and Thursday. Some instances of flooding may also be possible on Monday.
  • Afternoon and evening Monday and Thursday.  
  • Isolated severe thunderstorms with damaging wind gusts being the primary threat. Isolated instances of flooding or flash flooding possible on Monday. 
  • Confidence has increased for the potential of strong to severe storms on Monday, but confidence in coverage and exact location is low. Confidence for Thursday remains lower.
