This session, led by infection prevention experts from the Maryland Department of Health, will cover essential strategies to reduce infection risks in home-based care.

Meet Our Speakers:
Jamie Rubin MS RN CIC is the Infection Prevention and Control Program Administrator in the Infectious Disease Epidemiology and Outbreak Response Bureau at the Maryland Department of Health. Jamie's background is in acute care infection prevention and is a former adult and pediatric emergency department nurse. Since joining MDH in 2020, Jamie's focus is preventing the spread of multidrug resistant organisms and emerging pathogens in healthcare facilities, and engaging infection prevention, public health, and industry partners in prevention activities across the state. Jamie earned her MS from the University of Maryland Baltimore School of Nursing and is board certified in Infection Control.

Holly Simpson MSPH CIC is an Infection Prevention and Control Specialist at the Maryland Department of Health where she focuses on MDRO prevention and containment, particularly in outpatient settings. Prior to working at MDH, Ms. Simpson was fortunate to have had diverse experiences working in the public health field, ranging from bioterrorism to environmental and occupational health. For the past 9 years, Ms. Simpson has been focusing on communicable diseases and infection control practices, leading numerous outbreaks in both traditional and non-traditional healthcare settings.
